Framstående affärsidéer gav framtidstro under RAMP08

On 16 October, Inova took over 600 people on a business trip full of action, because the theme of RAMP08 was “The journey from idea to success”.
– It has been quite an experience to take part in RAMP08, and I’m impressed with the format, the stage performance and, of course, with the participants, said Stefan Olsson, national manager for the Swedish Athletic Association, who appeared on stage to talk about the importance of a strong team, even when it comes to business.

Crowded, professional, rapid and confident. Those were some of the descriptions by the audience at RAMP08 during the mingling session after the event. The twelve participants showed, before a packed Aula Magna auditorium of Karlstad University, that the obstacles faced along the road are not what determines if you succeed, but rather how these challenges are tackled. According to Anna Lundmark Lundbergh, regional manager of government-owned business promoter ALMI, this can instil both faith in the future and self-confidence in a coming recession. The stage for RAMP08, inspired by the theme of travelling, was designed as a departure hall. The destination of the day was, of course, “the future”, and it was beyond doubt that all those appearing are now ready and eager to start their trips toward Big Success.

It was the fifth yearly RAMP arranged by Inova. The purpose is to create a different meeting point that inspires more people to dare go for their business concepts. At the same time, it is an opportunity to display some of the leading business concepts in the country right now, to an audience consisting of industry representatives, researchers, private persons and investors.

– To us at Antioxal, RAMP has been a valuable chance to present our business concept to an audience of people that may be important to our future development, explained Sandra Winestrand, who appeared at RAMP08 with research project Antioxal.

After the two-hour presentation part followed a mingling session, where the visitors had the opportunity to talk with the innovators and fellow visitors. Because the guests also see RAMP as an occasion for doing business.

– I’m here as the managing director of property owner Karolinen Fastigheter, and I see the participants and visitors at RAMP08 as potential future tenants, Leif Andersson said.

To many of the participants at RAMP, the event is a ride right into the limelight. In other words, an exciting and intense period lies before the twelve presenters who appeared on stage at RAMP08. The journey from idea to success has just begun.

The following projects and companies were presented:

Antioxal
A spin-off from academic and industrial research that makes a healthy drink even better for you. Four chemistry researchers have, together with a brand owner, a shop manager and a businessman, set off on their voyage towards a launched product.

EQM offers an easy and effective quality survey of your company. The result, in an overall context, comes expressed in your customers’ terms. EQM is a scientifically based method that is now commercially available!

Harry Stanford
Harry Stanford is one of very few Swedes making a living off their patents. Harry sees no problems, but only exciting challenges to which he finds the solutions. He has spent the greater part of his life in the USA, but today Harry’s base is the old residence of the sawmill manager in Grums, some 30 kilometres from Karlstad.

REC Scanmodule
This is the manufacturer of solar panels that put tiny Hillringsberg, Glava on the world map. Research, manufacturing and sales on a vigorously expanding and international market. REC Scanmodule’s expansion is a hard-to-beat Norwegian and Swedish sunny story, which is revealing itself in the western parts of Värmland. CARD.COOP

CARD.COOP offers services that help businesses earn money by having their minds set on social and ecological sustainability. The modern knowledge and the international networks offered by address decision-makers on various levels. Knowledge is delivered via the Internet directly to your own workplace.

HaxTech
Ett brinnande intresse för det senaste inom datateknik gjorde att Martin och Karl utvecklade kompetens inom ett område som marknaden efterfrågade. Istället för att ta en vanlig anställning fortsatte de därför att utveckla en egen verksamhet. Webbspelet BoozeTycoon och företaget Haxtech blev resultatet.

Impeel UF
Att inte kunna få upp allt innehåll ur nagellacksflaskan var problemet som personerna bakom Impeel UF såg som en affärsmöjlighet. Företaget är nu på väg mot marknaden med en framtagen prototyp och kontakter inom kosmetikabranschen.

Babbel UF
Två vänner med liknande upplevelser av skilsmässor födde idén om en bok för andra i samma situation. Tack vare stort intresse och ett positivt gensvar från marknaden har nya bokprojekt redan börjat ta form.

Vändaren
Ann-Marie Dahlgren ville att de med funktionshinder, som behöver hjälp att vända sig i sängen, skulle kunna få den hjälpen. Men problemet var större än hon kunde ana, marknaden visade sig vara stor. Den automatiska vändarmadrassen är utvecklad i samarbete med Öberg Innovation i Karlstad.

Wildfire
Jerker Petterson började sin karriär som uthyrare av videokassetter i Sunne. Mannen som förde Pokémon till Skandinavien har via företaget Trendus byggt upp kunskap som är unik när det gäller import av varor som snabbt kan omsättas på konsumentmarknaden.

Cell Impact
Cell Impact erbjuder kundanpassade flödesplattor för masstillverkning av bränsleceller. Företaget medverkar till att skynda på övergången till förnyelsebara energikällor. Något som de gör genom att som första aktör på marknaden kunna erbjuda effektiv tillverkning av komponenter i bränslecellssystem

EmbracingSound
Samma effekt som från ett helt hemmabiosystem ur bara en högtalare. Lovordat av några av världens främsta musikproducenter och filmljudmakare. EmbracingSounds teknik harutvecklats av värmlänningar, med Karlstad som sin hemstad och håller på att erövra hela multimediavärlden.
