Innovationsbron joins Eventure Karlstad as partner

Initiatives leading to meetings between big-city investors in a neutral arena are important. The words are Gisela Sitbon’s, representing Innovationsbron (‘The Innovation Bridge’) – a public network of some of the strongest incubators in Sweden. It will now join in as a partner for Eventure Karlstad. Gisela Sitbon regards Eventure Karlstad as an important meeting point.


- We want to support Eventure Karlstad because it’s an initiative that promotes development for growth companies of high quality, comments Gisela, who is the deputy manager of Innovationsbron’s Central Region.


The fact that Innovationsbron teams up for Eventure Karlstad can be seen as a proof of quality. Innovationsbron has high demands for the projects they support, and they want to see results. Eventure Karlstad has fulfilled those demands during all of the three years that the event has taken place. About half of the companies have been offered external capital after participating.


In its nationwide operations, Innovationsbron specialises in turning top-class research and innovations into business. It offers business development, seed capital and a national incubator programme, and it controls a capital of approximately SEK 2 billion (about EUR 200 million). Innovationsbron is owned by the Swedish government and the Industrifonden foundation.


Gisela finds Karlstad an interesting location for an investor event.
- Värmland is a good example in many ways. The close co-operation with academia and industry is a positive feature that strengthens the region, she says.

Eventure Karlstad is a recurrent meeting point where well-prepared entrepreneurs from Sweden and Norway meet business angels and investors.
