CARD.COOP praised by communication giant Skype

Skype has more than 400 million users worldwide. Therefore, competition was fierce when the company was to point out a number of success stories among its customers. CARD.COOP won third prize for its creative and efficient use of Skype in a business context. No wonder Jonas Lagneryd, the incubator company’s founder, feels honoured!
- We’re in a tremendously exciting phase, and the Skype award came in a perfect moment now that we’re about to market the idea globally, Jonas explains.

“To us, Skype is an invaluable tool for communication and exchange of information with clients and partners all over the world. Its features save us both time and money,” Jonas continues.

Jonas’ praise for IT-based communication tool Skype makes you inclined to think he has been paid to promote it. But that is not the case; CARD.COOP is just very satisfied with what it, an international IT company, can accomplish through Skype.

The subscription used by CARD.COOP costs SEK 90 (less than EUR 9) a month per person, and it allows for an unlimited number of calls to any destination in the world, including fixed as well as mobile phones.

“I’m convinced this is a trend that will skyrocket. Through Skype we can communicate and exchange information with our clients and partners in a rapid, efficient and inexpensive way. These are important factors for most modern companies of today,” says Jonas.

Skype is a company offering Internet-based communication, primarily IP telephony. The purpose of the “Share your story” competition was to highlight creative and unusual ways to use Skype in a business context. The jury assessed the creativity as well as the company’s geographic spread and the internally developed “features” based on Skype.

CARD.COOP met all criteria very well, and it won third prize in the group “Europe, Middle East and Africa”, which rendered the company a cheque for SEK 2 000 (about EUR 200).

“The prize money was of course welcome, but more important than the money is the positive attention we get from the entire world in connection with this,” Jonas wraps up.

CARD.COOP has developed a unique service based on connecting several of the world’s most prominent sustainability experts, who then give courses and offer their competence related to sustainable development. The purpose is for the service to facilitate sustainable and profitable business, primarily in product development and urban design. In October, CARD.COOP will launch its offer on the market.
