Emma sees the world through her camera

On her way home from the supermarket. At work. On the bus. At home. Emma Bertilsson’s sources of inspiration are in the everyday events. She now displays her spectacular photographic art in the Park 124 building.
- My exhibition at Park 124 is an exciting opportunity for me to share my creativity, says Emma Bertilsson.

One is easily captured by Emma Bertilsson’s works. The fact that she has been a photographer for only four years, and a self-taught one at that, is remarkable. Her pictures are both calming and dramatic. They give the impression of a desire to communicate something more profound.

- I’ve always been a creative person, and because the members of my family are musicians I wanted to choose another path. So I turned to photography, Emma explains. Besides her work as a photographer, Emma is employed by Hemänglarna (“The Home Angels”), a company offering household services. Hemänglarna’s office is at Park 124.

The exhibition at Park 124 includes a selection of Emma’s digitally developed pieces of art. It is a representative sample, rather than a thematically concentrated series. “I haven’t gone for a specific niche – I shoot whatever comes in my way,” the young artist rounds off. Emma Bertilsson’s works will be on display at Park 124 until 1 September 2009.
