ES Equipment expands its business ñ cures fear of flying with unique course
{mosimage}ES Equipment has broadened its safety concept. Together with the Lighttouch Clinic, they now offer a different kind of course for those afraid of flying.– We’ve had the idea on our minds for a long time, and since the problem is more widespread than ever, we decided to design a course with a unique format, says Martin Bergstrand of ES Equipment.
The fact that we live in an increasingly boundless world is not a positive thing for all. There are those who, due to fear of flying, prefer to stay at home instead of going away on vacation. But now there is a solution to their problem.
On 21 January, ES Equipment, together with the Lighttouch Clinic, started a course for everyone hesitant to step into an aeroplane. ES Equipment already develops safety products, and they are sure the course will be an interesting new offer in that field.
Innovative thinking is still in focus for the ex-Incubator company. According to Martin Bergstrand, the course is quite different from other ones with the same objective.
– We have a more practical format. The mental training consists of not only talks but also, for example, floating. At the same time, in the technical part the participants get to sit in a flight simulator and learn how an aeroplane really works, he reveals.
Martin believes that the word will spread quickly about the course, and asserts that there is a great need for new rounds of the course. Every course goes on for five weeks, with one two-hour session every weekend. He himself has aviation experience because he previously worked at plane manufacturer Saab, where he developed and tested aeroplanes. In his work, he often got questions on the very topics of aviation safety and technology. Therefore, the idea of designing a course to cure fear of flying has been with him for quite some time.
Because of the growing interest in travelling abroad, along with the need for more business trips, fear of flying has become a central problem for several people. In the autumn of 2007, Martin therefore started looking for a suitable co-operation partner. He found that the mental training of the Lighttouch Clinic matched his technical knowledge so well that they could jointly design the course. Karlstad Airport also has an important role in passing on those afraid of flying who get in touch.
Martin is convinced this is only the beginning of a co-operation with great potential.
– We want to develop the course even more, including bundle offers to international companies. And hopefully we can top off the course with a real flight in the future, he smiles.
