Well-devised concept means good business for Home Angels

{mosimage}Environmental awareness and reduced stress – two current topics that have turned out to be a successful business concept. At least if you ask Irina Swahn, founder of Hemänglarna (“The Home Angels”).
– After only six months, there are more customers than expected, and now we need more staff to meet the demand, she affirms.

White bicycles with cleaning buckets on the luggage carriers have become part of the Karlstad city scene. The reason is Hemänglarna, the newly-started cleaning company that decided to skip the cars and go for more environmentally friendly transportation. Irina Swahn is convinced that is a standpoint which will prove profitable.

– The environmental policy of Hemänglarna is not only a benefit to the environment; it also boosts the well-being of the customers and the staff as well. On top of that, it also means an economic advantage, Irina Swahn argues. She explains that the company has been well received locally. The number of customers has grown more than anticipated during the first six months, which calls for expansion.

– But we first want to be sure to build up a well-functioning business. We must have the time to act upon the feedback from our customers before we hire more people, says Swahn.Hemänglarna currently has eight employees, and finding additional personnel will not pose any problems. The company has received over 250 job applications from students seeking a job.

– We’ve even engaged a recruitment consultant. It’s a process that must be given time. We step into people’s homes, so we must have high demands for service-mindedness and carefulness, Swahn explains.Hemänglarna is a newly-started company offering household services such as cleaning, snow shovelling, garden work and babysitting. The employees are students in need of extra work with flexible working hours.

The office is part of Drivhuset’s Take Off programme, which means it is located at Inova Science Park. For more information, please visit www.hemanglarna.se (in Swedish).
