Major breakthrough for Corner ñ green light for zero-series production
{mosimage}Corner Sweden AB recently undertook its second issue of new shares. That means they can now start the production of the zero series and recruit a number of people into the company.– This is the greatest breakthrough so far, says Eilif Nilsson of Corner Sweden AB.
In October of 2006, the prototype for FoodCube, Corner’s unique food dispenser, was unveiled. Now, one year later, the company has signed its second issue of new shares. Consequently, the coast is clear for manufacturing the seven FoodCubes that make up the so-called zero series. The food dispensers will be placed in strategically selected spots in Sweden and Norway for tests and follow-ups. One of the FoodCube locations is the very site where the idea was born, Löfbergs Lila Arena, which is also Karlstad’s number one sports and event arena.
According to the company, the issue of shares is a huge leap forward. The resources will be used for activities such as development and manufacturing.
– Now we have all we need to go on developing the product. That process will continue in parallel with our evaluation of the use of they deployed dispensers, Eilif explains.
It is not only in the field of production that decisive steps will be taken in the company.
– We’re going to build up a completely new organisation during the busy phase that we’re about to enter. Among other things, we’ll be hiring marketing, sales and service staff, continues Eilif.
The service organisation will play an important part, because the market for the white-and-red chequered food dispensers is both big and widespread. According to Corner’s preliminary surveys, Europe alone accounts for a market of at least 240,000 FoodCubes.
Corner started out in the Inova Incubator and still has its office at Inova Science Park.
